ORIENTATION:

Wednesday, August 14th: Setting Up Campus Services (Optional and Strongly Encouraged)

Please join us on campus for an informal and optional day of setting up campus services and getting acquainted with Miami Law. Meet and mingle with our Student Ambassadors who will be on the Bricks to direct you and answer general questions. This is not mandatory but strongly encouraged, especially for laptop configuration and Cane Card pictures.

Laptop Configuration
Join our Information Technology team who will show you how to get connected to our Wireless Canes network, set up your email account, and install printer drivers so that you are prepared for classes to begin. Please bring your laptop.

Cane Card (Student ID) Pictures
Your Student ID card, called a “Cane Card,” is used for many purposes on campus such as checking out library books and gaining entrance to the Wellness Center. Representatives will be on hand to take your Cane Card picture and print your ID. Attire is casual, but appropriate. If you attended UM for undergraduate or graduate school you will still need to have a new picture taken and exchange your old Cane Card for a law Cane Card.

Campus Tours
2L and 3L students will provide you with the “insider” tour of the School of Law and the University including classrooms, administrative offices, the Food Court, Wellness Center, and bookstore.

Budgeting for Law School 101: Lunch with the Financial Aid Team
Learn tips for managing your budget during law school. Enjoy lunch with our Financial Aid Team and be sure to get your questions answered.
